The summer edition of The Polyglot Papers has just been published. Many of our students and teachers have written stimulating articles in a range of languages and on a variety of fascinating topics.

There are articles about enriching aspects of different cultures; pieces of creative writing, jokes, proverbs and tongue twisters, film and theatre reviews, analysis of the plight in Ukraine, descriptions of a range of wonderful regions and role-models and some top tips for improving your language skills. Also congratulations to Ava in Year 8 for winning the photography competition on the theme of ‘Celebration.’

Hidden within the magazine is Polly the Polyglotter : the first student to find her will win a prize. If you find Polly, please contact Ms Bishop with the correct page.

Head of French Kate Wright set up the Modern Languages magazine last summer and this is the third in the series. Mentored by the skilful Tom Walker the latest editorial team comprised Year 12 students Sasha, Jemima, Stella, An Qi, Priya and Tomás.

"The 2022 winter edition will be published at the end of the Advent term, and we would love to receive articles from students and teachers. You can write in any language and on anything that interests you: recipes, literary reviews, travel guides, traditions, quizzes, poems - the choice is yours! The topic of the photography competition is ‘Shadows’ so start getting creative with your camera to explore this theme." Gabriella Bishop, Teacher of Modern Forgeign Languages
