Cadet Seargent Niamh and Cadet Corporal Jamie, both in Year 12, have overcome fierce competition to gain places at the coveted RAF National Air and Space Camp 2022, where they will join an exclusive group of 300 young cadets at RAF Syerston near Nottingham for a week’s training this August.

It is a wonderful opportunity for Cadet Seargent Niamh and Cadet Corporal Jamie to further their knowledge of STEM and as the first cadets from Alleyn’s to be accepted onto this programme, they lead the way for future Alleyn's students. This is also a special achievement because the Camp would normally only accept one student per school but they were so impressed with the two Alleyn's students that they accepted them both.

Niamh and Jamie came to sign the Head’s Book for Outstanding Achievement this break time and chatted with Mrs Lunnon, who told them how impressed she was with their example of leadership and reminded them that they were making school history.

Niamh said:

"Jamie and I are honoured and excited to be the first to represent Alleyn's at the RAF National Air and Space Camp. We hope this becomes an annual tradition for the RAF at Alleyn's and personally, I am ecstatic about this opportunity to combine my STEM and military interests."
