The Third Day
Keep everything crossed for the BAFTA’s on 6 June: Autumn of The Third Day has been nominated under the 'Live Event' category.
You may have seen The Third Day, a psychological thriller exploring the mysteries and rituals of a remote British island, which premiered on Sky Atlantic, NOW and HBO in 2020. What you may not know is that this groundbreaking show was created and written by alumnus Felix Barrett (Tulley's 1989-96) at Punchdrunk and is a true Alleyn’s collaboration - the cast including alumni Jude Law (Spurgeon's 1985-89) and Sam Booth (Brading's 1991-98) alongside a guest appearance from Florence Welch (Spurgeon's 1998-05).
Designed to be the world’s first immersive TV show, the six episodes that make up the main series are punctuated by The Third Day: Autumn, a unique theatrical broadcast that allowed viewers to spend a day on the island. Originally broadcast direct from the island in one continuous take, Autumn is now available to stream online in full.
Described by the Observer as ‘an enthralling, mesmerising experiment between TV and theatre… truly, insanely, watchable’, The Third Day has already received much critical acclaim - The Third Day: Autumn was awarded the RTS Award for best Live Event in 2021 and the DQ Daily award for Drama Craft at the C21 International Drama awards 2020.
Junior School Open Day
The next Alleyn's Junior School Open Event is from 1.30pm to 3pm on Wednesday 22 May 2024. There will be a Head's Talk at 1.40pm after which you will be offered a tour of the school with a pupil. There is no need to book a place at this Open Event - everyone is welcome.
