Year 11 pupil and CCF enthusiast Pablo has been helping with coronavirus efforts by volunteering at a vaccine centre in south London.
After a school careers event and talk about work experience, he decided to volunteer during half-term initially, and since has returned for several more stints with plans to donate his time over the Easter break, too.
Pablo said: "I volunteered because I wanted to do some work experience and it seemed like the perfect opportunity. Helping the community at a time like this felt like a beneficial way to spend my time.
I started off by stamping vaccine cards and distributing syringes, and then I began welcoming the patients directly and guiding them. I would help any patients who seemed lost or needed assistance.
It was really fun and I felt like I was really giving something back to my community and neighbourhood, so I would definitely encourage anyone to volunteer. Overall it was an amazing experience and I am excited to be returning and continuing to help out!"
Head of Middle School Mrs Joel said: "We are so proud of Pablo. It is always wonderful to be able to recognise the efforts of our pupils who go over and beyond to help others in this way."
