We have just received the results to the Intermediate Maths Challenge (IMC), a competition aimed at pupils in Years 9 to 11 from schools across the United Kingdom - and five Alleyn’s pupils – Aanya (Year 9), Alexei (Year 11), Maya (Year 10), Tara (Year 11) and Theo (Year 10) have qualified for the prestigious Olympiad rounds! In addition, Alexei and Aanya, who have done so well in the Senior Maths Challenge, both received full marks in the first round!

To have qualified for the Olympiad is an real achievement for these pupils individually, and also for us as a school to have five pupils reach this round, but also, in the light of National Women’s Day coming up on Monday it is worth noting that while nationally girls make up less than ten per cent of pupils qualifying for the Olympiads, three of the five who have qualified at Alleyn’s are girls.

We are so proud of them all.
