We enjoyed a fantastic gathering on 8 October as members of the Alleyn’s Cornflower Club came together for a special lunch, celebrating their ongoing support and friendship to the School.

The Cornflower Club unites those who have pledged to leave a legacy gift to Alleyn's in their will—a lasting way to give back to the School, open to all members of the Alleyn’s community. Legacies have supported Alleyn’s since the time of its foundation and we are incredibly grateful to all our legacy benefactors whose generosity has underpinned bursaries, school buildings projects and much more across the years.

This lunch was a heartfelt thank you to alumni, former staff, governors, and their guests for their continued commitment. It was also a moment to pay tribute to the memory of dedicated member Bob Skelly, who sadly passed away in August.

Adding a vibrant energy to the event, four Alleyn's students—including Development and Alumni Relations Prefects attended. Anahi, Isadora, Eddie, and Tristan shared their stories and thanked guests for their loyalty. Anahi beautifully captured the essence of the day:

“When we joined the school in Year 7, we learnt about the founding of Alleyn’s, about its close ties with philanthropy and giving back by generous donors. But it is so lovely to connect with you in real-time at events like this, partly as a way to meet you and get to know more about what life was like at Alleyn’s for you, but most importantly to say thank you for still caring about Alleyn’s today, and for making a difference.”

Isadora echoed this gratitude, explaining why she took on the prefect role:

“I was interested in the fact that this school, this building and community, connects so many of us across the world, that there’s so many stories to be shared. I wanted to be a senior prefect mainly out of gratitude for the school, and a lot of that goes back to the care alumni and former staff repeatedly show.”

Guests were gifted with handwritten notes from the prefects and a copy of the 2024 Scriblerus, offering a glimpse of the previous school year and a connection to Alleyn’s today.

Head, Mrs. Lunnon, took the opportunity to update the Cornflower Club on recent developments and challenges, closing with a heartfelt message:

“Thank you for your support, your fellowship, and for being such an integral part of this community for so long.”

Some guests took the chance to tour Alleyn's today, for many a trip down memory lane, as well as a chance to see some of the newer facilities and spaces at Alleyn's today. Some even enjoyed the chance to spot themselves on the School Captains boards!

A huge thank you to all of our Alleyn's Cornflowers, including those who could not join us at this year's lunch. We are incredibly grateful for your friendship, connection and loyalty.
