Every week, some of Alleyn’s Year 10 and Year 12 pupils walk down to Dulwich Hamlet Junior School, where they help with the primary school pupils’ After-School Clubs.

Maya and Tom help with the Eco Explorers Club, where they help the younger children to learn about plant species and supervise them while they do various outdoor activities, such as making zip lines across the school garden, carving bows and arrows, and chalk drawing!

Elizabeth and Tessa help with the Year 5 and Year 6 Clay & Art Club, where, this term, they’re helping the children to make clay figures.

Matilda helps with the Drama Club, where she joins in with their games and makes sure that the children are listening to the teacher!

Our pupils have all said that they really enjoy volunteering at Dulwich Hamlet and that they are gaining valuable experience working with young children.

Tessa said, “One thing that I have really enjoyed about volunteering is the opportunity to meet new people and help them learn new things.”
