This week was a great opportunity for us to celebrate how multilingual and multicultural our school is. On Monday we had a multilingual assembly in 10 languages and we explored the amazing benefits of learning and speaking another language. Did you know that learning another language makes your brain grow and work faster? It also boosts empathy and makes people better at understanding different perspectives.
On Thursday we hosted our ever so popular Language and Culture fair. Our bilingual speakers created wonderful displays presenting stories, games, photos, musical instruments and artefacts from all over the world with a great deal of passion and enthusiasm. We had many inquisitive Junior school visitors who took the time to look at each display and engaged in conversations with the senior school pupils. They particularly enjoyed the crafts on the Mandarin and Hindi stalls.
Junior School Open Day
The next Alleyn's Junior School Open Event is from 1.30pm to 3pm on Wednesday 22 May 2024. There will be a Head's Talk at 1.40pm after which you will be offered a tour of the school with a pupil. There is no need to book a place at this Open Event - everyone is welcome.
