We were delighted to welcome alumni back to Alleyn’s for a day at the John Pretlove (Cribb’s 1951) Fives courts on Saturday 18 March.

The alumni, including multiple former National Champions, mixed in with current pupils in games to help them prepare for upcoming National Championship tournaments. It was a hugely inspiring session for the younger players, some of whom went on to win their competitions at the National Schools Mixed Doubles at Oundle School the very next day!

There were also several non-playing alumni in attendance, including veteran David Hebden (Cribb’s 1966) who has a court named after him at the school to recognise his Senior Amateur Singles Championship that he won in 1979.

Many thanks to those who attended (listed below) and those who helped make the day such a success, in particular Rob Ody and Hamish Buchanan (Tyson’s 1982), Edward Alleyn Club Fives Captain.

Peter Hanton (Roper’s 2010), Inigo Ackland (Tyson’s 2008), Viola King Forbes (Roper’s 2017), Katie Innes (Brown’s 2022), David Hebden (Cribb’s 1966), Bruce Hanton (Roper’s 1980), Bob Dolby (Cribb’s 1962), Edward Carr (Tyson’s 2005), Martha Nugent (Brown’s 2022), Oliver Wallace-Vorberg (Dutton’s 2022), Artem Naumenko (Tyson’s 2017), Holly Nugent (Brown’s 2017), Gwydion Wiseman (Brown’s 2022) and Patrick Harrison (Dutton’s 2022).

We look forward to making the reunion an annual event.
