Each week around thirty-five Year 12 students plan and deliver lessons to local primary school children as part of the Primary School Outreach programme.

Mrs Platten’s team of students Lily, Emma, Flick , Jessica and Alexandra are, this term, leading children through a project based on Abstract Art.  Having been trained up to deliver watercolour skills and colour mixing, they are delivering lessons to Year 4’s about how to improve these skills within circles shapes and dots to create a composition that is dependent on the beauty of the paint techniques alone. Kusama, Damien Hirst spot paintings and Aborigianl Art are used as inspiration for the work and pupils get to learn more about these artists during the lessons.

We hope they have a fantastic term!
