Wednesday provided a wonderful showcase of sport across the entire school as every child competed at Sports Day. The Infants got the day off to a flying start with their morning events. There were some individual running races, but most were team events, designed to enable them to apply what they have learnt about agility, balance and co-ordination over the course of the year. The levels of physical literacy on display were impressive but it was the fun-filled atmosphere that will live long in the memory. Welcoming parents back, after two years without them, added an extra layer to things and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the morning. Leopards, in Mrs Foley’s final year, were delighted to emerge as narrow winners when the scores were added but everyone can be proud of what they contributed.

After a brief lunch and reset of the track the Junior pupils headed to the Upper field for the afternoon’s action. Again, the children gave everything for their House and their efforts resulted in some enthralling contests. The fiercely contested tug-of-war and the sprint races created an intense atmosphere, which mellowed as people dispersed to take in the skill on show in the field events. Everyone then gathered to watch the final squadron relay, a fitting finale to a super event. Congratulations Panthers on being crowned House Champions this year.
