It is certainly something to celebrate that we can once again experience live performances, albeit masked and socially distanced, on the school site.
The Drama department has organised a tempting pre-Easter line-up, and the first performance, Alleyn's Year 12 Bear Pit Bitesize, hit the stage with a bang yesterday lunchtime.
Over the final weeks of lockdown, Year 12 students were working on monologues from some great plays ranging from Death of England to Medea to Angels in America and they shared their work in Drama 1 to a riveted audience. There are seven challenging monologues, including some Anglo-Saxon to grapple with!
We can’t wait to see the screening in the MCT of the Year 9 play, Game on Friday and then the Bear Bit Musical Theatre Open Mic next Tuesday.
The next Alleyn's Junior School Open Event is from 1.30pm to 3pm on Wednesday 22 May 2024. There will be a Head's Talk at 1.40pm after which you will be offered a tour of the school with a pupil. There is no need to book a place at this Open Event - everyone is welcome.
