Lucy Aldwinckle, Registrar and parent of two former pupils writes: ‘Our family’s ones were acquired secondhand, when they already had the softness and that batteredness resulting from several years of inter-house football and hockey matches. The light blue and black panels were even more faded by the time they’d been worn and washed by our family for another eight years or so, but they were still holding together sufficiently well to be handed on to cousins – the next generation of Tyson’s members – who sport them still (shown here receiving the Year 9 Team-Building Trophy from Dr Colin Diggory in 2009). When they finally end up as dusters they’ll continue to remind us of Tyson’s triumph and disaster on the football and hockey pitches over a couple of decades at least.
Junior School Open Day
The next Alleyn's Junior School Open Event is from 1.30pm to 3pm on Wednesday 22 May 2024. There will be a Head's Talk at 1.40pm after which you will be offered a tour of the school with a pupil. There is no need to book a place at this Open Event - everyone is welcome.
