Following a complete review in 2010-11 the new colours system was launched in 2011-12 with parity across Music, Drama and Sport.

A new category, ‘Community’, has been added to recognise those with major contributions in the many other co-curricular areas. New certificates, ties and badges were commissioned and have been presented, and well received by the pupils. Sue Chandler, Deputy Head (Personnel & Administration) has nominated this board because ‘The Alleyn's colours system recognises achievements outside the academic curriculum, activities which are an integral part of what Alleyn’s believes in. Individuals who have achieved both the very highest standard in an Alleyn's co-curricular activity, and also those individuals who display an extended period of commitment to an Alleyn's co-curricular activity are recognised. In both instances make a very valuable and positive contribution to the School community through extremely high standards of behaviour, reliability, effort and enthusiasm. The Board clearly explains the awards and hopefully pupils aspire to receive one.’

Oliver Beauchamp (Year 12, Cribb’s) admits that ‘pupils really do wear their colours with pride.
