Learning at Alleyn’s Junior School is underpinned by our seven Learning Dispositions of Responsibility, Resilience, Reflection, Empathy and Humility, Thoroughness and Focus, Courage and Self-Belief and Imagination.

Development of these skills gives children the confidence to become independent learners willing to take risks and pursue their own challenges and areas of interest. The whole-school ‘ROCCK’ values of Respect, Opportunity, Curiosity, Courage and Kindness complement the dispositions in encouraging endeavour, inclusivity and an outward looking approach.

Values and dispositions are celebrated through assemblies, form times and ongoing discussions in class with children encouraged to take increasing responsibility for their learning as they progress through the school. The themes of empathy, humility, respect and kindness ensure that a sense of humanity runs through children’s ambitions and studies.
