Fresh from graduating from York with a BSc in Film and Television Production, we're delighted to have Francesca back at Alleyn's for 2 weeks working with Year 12 and 13s, showing them the practicalities and technicalities of working with different AV equipment, including cameras, tripods and microphones, assisting in Film Studies lessons and producing guides for future reference; all of which knowledge and expertise helps our students effectively create and tell their stories for their course work, a 5 minute fiction film produced themselves. Francesca's enthusiasm for her chosen career is infectious. Having had a wonderful time at York which offered 'an excellent balance between theory and practice' including valuable first-hand experience of filming in their fully functioning TV studios, she's about to embark on the next stage of following her passion within the field of scripted tv and drama. If anyone in the industry has an opening or opportunity that might suit her in this field going forward, do please get in touch with the alumni department; connecting people is what we do.
Junior School Open Day
The next Alleyn's Junior School Open Event is from 1.30pm to 3pm on Wednesday 22 May 2024. There will be a Head's Talk at 1.40pm after which you will be offered a tour of the school with a pupil. There is no need to book a place at this Open Event - everyone is welcome.
