Usually on Remembrance Sunday, Alleyn's CCF and Edward Alleyn Club, in conjunction with CCF from Dulwich College and JAGS, parade through Dulwich Village to a commemorative service at Christ's Chapel. Due to Covid-19 related restrictions, these activities were unable to go ahead in their usual format this year.
On Sunday 8 November Alleyn's observed a moving act of commemoration in the Great Hall, a short film of which is now available for viewing on the School's here
During the service members of the Alleyn's staff, CCF and School Captain represented the Edward Alleyn Club, the Heads and pupils of the Foundation Schools, the Dulwich Estate and the Parish of St Barnabas with Christ's Chapel. Mr Skinnard introduced the service, which was then led by Alleyn's Chaplain, Rev Lander.
On Wednesday, 11 November, the whole Alleyn’s community came together in an act of Remembrance. Livestreamed to all Junior and Senior School pupils and staff across the School, the service began with an opening address from Reverend Liz Lander who remembered and honoured the sacrifice of those who have died in the service of their country. Junior School Open Day
The next Alleyn's Junior School Open Event is from 1.30pm to 3pm on Wednesday 22 May 2024. There will be a Head's Talk at 1.40pm after which you will be offered a tour of the school with a pupil. There is no need to book a place at this Open Event - everyone is welcome.
