Representatives from Year 6 visited The Telegraph media group on Tuesday. Earlier in the year, all of Year 6 wrote letters about a variety of issues that they felt strongly about. The Telegraph group were so impressed with how well the letters were written that they invited us into the offices to see how the newspaper is produced.
We spent a fascinating few hours at their offices in Buckingham Palace Road. Our host, Ian MacGregor, gave the children a tour of the news floor, the opportunity to have a look at the area where videos and podcasts are made and to ask countless questions about the publishing of a newspaper and the production of online news.The children asked pertinent questions and gave very thoughtful responses. It was a brilliant and exciting chance to get a glimpse into the increasingly fast-paced world of journalism. A big thank you to The Telegraph and to our Year 6 children.
Junior School Open Day
The next Alleyn's Junior School Open Event is from 1.30pm to 3pm on Wednesday 22 May 2024. There will be a Head's Talk at 1.40pm after which you will be offered a tour of the school with a pupil. There is no need to book a place at this Open Event - everyone is welcome.
