Walk To School Week has seen many children walking and riding their bikes or scooters to school – well done to those who used a different mode of transport in order to support this initiative!

On Monday, parents and children enjoyed a booster breakfast in the playground to reward their walking and riding endeavours. On Tuesday, children supported the official charity of Walk To School Week, ‘Living Streets’ by wearing their own shoes to school – there was some very creative footwear to be seen. Well done for raising £206.04!

Also on Tuesday, Balfe’s Bikes were on site, carrying out maintenance of pupil, staff and parent bikes. Years 5 and 6 enjoyed learning how to keep their bikes roadworthy and check all is in good working order with a practical 40 minute workshop session each. They should now be able to assist with the pumping up of tyres and help in the case of a puncture.

On Wednesday, many children rode their bikes or scooters to school and these were decorated in some very imaginative ways. Today we finished with a power walk around the field led by Miss Kerr and the sports department.

What a busy and energetic week it has been. Thank you to all who supported this week and helped make it a great success.
