Year 1 and 2 enjoyed a gloriously sunny day at Hever Castle. The mist initially provided a mysterious shroud as we entered the castle, where the children learnt about Henry VIII and his six wives, the counterweight system of a portcullis, life as a young girl for Anne Boleyn in the 16th century and much more from our tour guides. As we came out of the castle we were met by beautiful spring sunshine in which to enjoy getting lost in the Yew Maze. Once everyone had successfully found their way out we enjoyed a brief stint in the large wooden fort acting out some of the things we had learnt before heading home, tired but happy.
Junior School Open Day
The next Alleyn's Junior School Open Event is from 1.30pm to 3pm on Wednesday 22 May 2024. There will be a Head's Talk at 1.40pm after which you will be offered a tour of the school with a pupil. There is no need to book a place at this Open Event - everyone is welcome.
