Pupils from 15 different schools took part in this year's challenge, in which they had to debate motions on feminist movements in Spain, the threat of new technologies to democracy and whether the consumption of meat should be taxed.

Early rounds took place in classrooms around the School, with the grand final held on stage in the Great Hall. Latymer Upper and King's School Canterbury were the finalists who debated an unseen motion on whether mobile phones should be banned in schools. It was a close final, with Latymer Upper the ultimate winners.

It was wonderful to welcome so many boys and girls to Alleyn's, and to witness such confident exchanges of views in another language. ¡Bien hecho!
