We are very proud to announce that our boys and girls are celebrating a bumper set of GCSE results and have broken school records:

  • 73% of all grades awarded were at A*, 9 or 8
  • 92% of all grades awarded were at A*or A, 9, 8 or 7
  • 99% of all grades awarded were at A*, A or B, 9, 8, 7 or 6
  • Over half of all grades were at the new level 9
  • 75 individual pupils gained 9 or more A*, 9 or 8 grades
  • An impressive 97 individual pupils, from a cohort of 145, received all A*or A, 9, 8 or 7 grades

These wonderful results come during a year of transition away from the A*-G grading system and towards a new 9-1 scale.

Headmaster, Dr Gary Savage, said: “This is, quite simply, a fantastic set of results for our entire community; for our boys and girls, their families and for our inspirational staff. We are truly delighted with the pupils’ achievements, and recognise the commitment and hard work that has brought them about. As we look ahead to our 400th anniversary in 2019, these brilliant results show once again just what can be achieved by boys and girls in a caring, holistic, co-educational environment in which all our pupils learn and grow together.”
