The Head and Chief Operating Officer of Alleyn’s School are delighted to welcome applications for the position of Director of Commercial Partnerships.
Alleyn’s is a leading, coeducational independent day school set in the heart of Dulwich that educates some 1,450 pupils aged 4-18. Initially founded by the Jacobean actor Edward Alleyn in 1619, Alleyn’s is now one of the most successful schools in the country, delivering academic, pastoral, and co-curricular excellence in a thriving, kind and energetic community.
With unprecedented pupil numbers, exceptional academic outcomes and an expanding partnerships programme, Alleyn’s finds itself at a pivotal and exciting moment in its rich history, ready to capitalise on its domestic success through ambitious plans to expand its global presence and influence. In order to realise this vision, the school now seeks to appoint a Director of Commercial Partnerships, who will be the driving force behind a range of projects, including the establishment of a network of Alleyn’s Schools, the development of educational and technological products, and the sensitive commoditisation of the Alleyn’s brand and its intellectual property.
In a brand-new role that will report to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Commercial Partnerships will be a key figure in building long-lasting relationships across a range of activities, both with other institutions and with technological partners, and will work at pace and with entrepreneurial agility to formalise existing projects and identify new opportunities for board and executive approval.
The successful candidate will be an experienced commercial leader with a keen eye for detail and the ability to conduct thorough due diligence and quickly execute commercially viable product arrangements. Experience of the education sector is not essential, however, a sound understanding and application of Alleyn’s’ ethos and values, and an ability to reconcile the post-holder’s commercial work with the sensitivities and nuances of an educational institution, will be crucial.
Alleyn’s School has engaged the services of Odgers Berndtson to assist with the recruitment of the Director of Commercial Partnerships.
Letters of application which explain your interest in the role, CVs and completed application forms should be submitted online (preferred) at: www.odgers.com/92836 and a candidate brief is available to download here
