Congratulations to chef, food writer, podcaster and Alleyn’s alumna, Sophie Wyburd (Tulley’s 2012) on the release of her debut cookbook, Tucking In on Thursday, 13 June!

Sophie, 'The Queen of Comfort', presents delicious, fuss free and flavour-packed recipes. Her recipes make cooking a non-stressful, casual affair and are ideal for a warming Tuesday night or a weekend feast for friends. Most can be made in 30 minutes or prepped way in advance. Recipes include a moreish chicken butter & pancetta tagliatelle, to a laid back tray bake like burst chipotle tomatoes with white bean and feta, through to more adventurous recipes such as spiced blackened salmon tacos or celeriac schnitzel with charred pepper salsa to whip up when you have more time. Delicious!

Described in a recent edition of Waitrose Magazine as ‘one to watch’, we cannot wait to welcome Sophie back to Alleyn’s on Tuesday, 18 June to share and demonstrate one of her delicious recipes with us and talk about her passion for cooking in the Alleyn’s MCT in An Evening with Sophie Wyburd. Tickets are available here.

In the run-up to the launch of Tucking In, Sophie said:

“The book is dedicated to my family, without whom the book in this form would not exist. I can’t thank them enough for the lifetime of big, rowdy dinners that have shaped my personality.”

Reviewing the book, cook and author Ixta Belfrage said:

“A collection of exciting recipes that are cosy and simple. I can almost hear Sophie’s infectious laugh coming through in the beautiful writing.”

When Sophie's not writing recipes, you can find her cooking up a storm at supper clubs all over London, and co-hosting I'll Have What She's Having and A Bit of a Mouthful podcasts.

Congratulations, Sophie on this release of this brilliant cookbook and we look forward to seeing you back at Alleyn’s on Tuesday, 18 June!
