We are seeking a full-time, permanent Teacher of Mathematics from the start of the Advent term 2025 (Thursday 28 August) to join our large, friendly, strong and motivated Maths Department.

All members of the department teach classes of varying ability throughout the Senior School. In addition, many of the staff teach Further Mathematics and support within the department is plentiful, with colleagues who enjoy sharing ideas and resources.

We are looking for someone with a real love for Maths and for learning and an ability to convey this to and motivate pupils and staff alike. Having a natural empathy and pastoral instinct is also vital, as is being able to work as part of a strong team.

We would welcome applications from either an experienced teacher, someone seeking ECT status or possibly an aspiring well-qualified graduate wanting to enter the profession (we have a full training and induction programme in place).

For this particular role we are looking for a committed and dynamic person who will contribute to the high-quality teaching and assessment of Maths across ability ranges, up to and including A level.

For someone with the right experience there may also be the possibility to take on some departmental responsibility.

English at Alleyn’s has a rich history, dating from our Founder’s own prominent position as a leading light of the Elizabethan theatre, both as an actor and theatre owner.  We are committed to enabling pupils to become independent and enthusiastic critical readers and speakers through the study of a stretching and wide-ranging curriculum.

We provide our pupils with opportunities to develop a passionate understanding and appreciation of the English language, introducing them to a range of diverse texts.  We aim to foster a life-long love of the subject in all its forms, from critical analysis to creative expression.

This exciting and challenging leadership role would be ideal for an experienced practitioner seeking the opportunity for significant leadership responsibility in an exciting and stimulating environment. Or for experienced Directors of Music seeking a new leadership challenge in one of the most exciting and high-performing departments in the country.

The successful candidate will have a clearly articulated vision for music at Alleyn’s which moves our already excellent department forward, which reaches all our pupils in a host of ways, offering them the highest standards of learning and achievement and which provides leadership to our talented and committed team of practitioners, personally enriching the professional development of all department staff.

We are looking for someone, therefore, who is excited about communicating this vision to a wide variety of stakeholders, indeed, to all those involved or interested in music at Alleyn’s and beyond it. To this end, they will possess excellent communication skills – both oral and written – to engage effectively with pupils, parents, staff, alumni, Governors, donors, our community partners and anyone on the wider, national stage who might be interested in supporting and developing music at Alleyn’s.

They will also play a key role in promoting the School to prospective pupils and parents.

We are looking to appoint a permanent, full-time Teacher of Physics from Thursday 28 August 2025.

The successful applicant will join a large, well-established and well-resourced successful academic department of specialist, enthusiastic and committed Physics teachers.

Exam results at both GCSE and A level are among the best in the school and a large number of students studying Physics at A level go on to study for university degrees in Physics and Engineering.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and well-qualified, with a real love for Physics and an ability to convey this to pupils, as well as a natural empathy and pastoral instinct. The ability to motivate and inspire both students and teachers is vital, as is being able to work as part of a strong team.

This particular post could suit either an experienced teacher, someone early in their career (e.g. an ECT) or possibly an aspiring teacher wanting to enter the profession as we have a full training and induction programme in place.
