Ashdown Forest, an ancient area of open heathland, has long been a favourite spot for kings and queens, scientists writers and artists alike. Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it is a haven for the natural world and inspired A.A. Milne's Hundred Acre Wood, and Charles Darwin, amongst others. More about Ashdown Forest on the Visit Tunbridge Wells site.
