400th Anniversary Campaign Ambassador Janie Yang wrote to us after the Service of Thanksgiving and Commemoration at Westminster Abbey, to share her feelings of the day. With Janie's kind permission, we reproduce her words here:

"What a superb service of thanksgiving and commemoration for our Founder, the Alleyn’s community created yesterday. It was so beautifully constructed with so much care and thought and illuminated once again the wonderful talents of Alleyn’s pupils and staff.

The choir sounded so beautiful and the brass ensemble were absolutely superb. Very eerie thinking that Edward Alleyn himself would most likely have heard the Gabrieli Sonata, in his day, and played so exquisitely for us by the Brass Ensemble.  You must have felt incredibly proud of everyone involved.

It really was a huge pleasure and privilege to witness such a momentous occasion in the life of Alleyn’s School, in such an awe-inspiring place as the Abbey, which speaks volumes for heritage and longevity and the power and greatness of good deeds.

I wish you all success with the goals set for the Founder’s Endowment Fund and am very happy to help in any way I can.Thank you once again for such a memorable, inspiring and moving experience."
