MUN Take on Bilbao

Last Thursday, 15 students, Dr Greetham and Mrs Follows made their way to the MUN conference in Bilbao, a stunning city in Northern Spain, home of the Guggenheim Museum. Shortly after landing, we walked in the rain to the museum and spent some time there to wander around and admire the artworks!
The conference itself began that evening with a welcoming opening ceremony with VIP speeches by distinguished guests and an opportunity for delegates to introduce themselves, chat and eat traditional pintxos.

The following day, delegates made their way to their individual committees, where they engaged in fruitful debate and diplomatic exchanges, and made some friends along the way. The conference wasn’t all serious and political as there were fun punishments if you were late to committee, such as Just Dance. 
On Sunday, all 400 delegates from different countries and committees convened in the General Assembly, where the most successful resolutions were debated, and where entire delegations met and chatted.

To finish off the incredible experience of MUN Bilbao, the closing ceremony was full of awards for Alleyn’s delegates, with Alleyn’s bringing home nine prizes following  stellar performances.
