It is sure to be an entertaining night ahead as the first ever Bitesize Bear Pit drama production takes to the stage in the MCT.
Last night, we engrossed in an exciting dress rehearsal, with pupils practicing stage set up and transitions between sets, finessing the ever-important mic placement and ensuring their props were in the right place to dazzle under the stage lights.
This iteration of Bear Pit is a Lower School production, but with a special twist. Taking the format of a sketch show, it offers up 11 highly amusing short format performances that encompass a range of theatrical medium, from song to stand-up comedy, to acting out short scenes.
Each sketch presents relatable and light-hearted storylines, touching on the trials and joys of school life, the adventures of adolescence, and the complexities of family dynamics. From playful nods to the Middle School play, And Then There Were None, to spirited renditions of beloved films condensed into four-minute acts, the show brims with bold ideas and spot-on impersonations.
True to the spirit of Bear Pit tradition, Bite Size is written and produced by the pupils, and my oh my, are they talented, and very funny.
Well done to Alleyn’s Drama and our Lower School pupils for pulling together yet another entertaining, original, and unforgettable production!
Junior School Open Day
The next Alleyn's Junior School Open Event is from 1.30pm to 3pm on Wednesday 22 May 2024. There will be a Head's Talk at 1.40pm after which you will be offered a tour of the school with a pupil. There is no need to book a place at this Open Event - everyone is welcome.
