We are delighted to announce the recent appointment of Isabelle Alexander as our new Head of Access, Inclusion and Mentoring (AIM) – formerly known as Learning Support.

An exciting addition to the team, Isabelle has joined Alleyn’s following 7 years at Wimbledon High School (WHS) where she was the Head of Neurodiversity and Hidden Differences.

Following a successful career in marketing and having discovered that one of her daughters was dyslexic, she changed paths and trained to become a specialist teacher. A few years later, she undertook further study to become a specialist teacher assessor.

At WHS, Isabelle worked to demystify and increase inclusion of neurodiversity and hidden differences for students, staff, and parents. Isabelle also has a private practice and, along with assessing individuals for learning differences, she provides consultancy and assessment services to other schools. She firmly believes that one size does not fit all and that we are all individuals and is passionate about ensuring that students achieve their true potential and (eventually) leave school feeling confident in themselves.

‘I am delighted to have been appointed as SENCo and Head of Access, Inclusion and Mentoring. The name change and rebranding of the department has been very carefully and deliberately considered and marks the beginning of a change in approach at Alleyn’s.

‘It is very important that no one ever feels as if they are lesser because they have a difference. We are all human and we should strive for a culture where inclusion is seamless. We are very lucky have a talented and experienced team here at Alleyn’s who have a passion for supporting students as they develop into grounded, independent individuals.’

Isabelle keeps herself grounded by leading a fulfilling life outside of work, enjoying regular visits to art galleries and spending time with her best friend, Edna, who is pictured below.

Welcome to the team, Isabelle.
