Last week, Year 10 GCSE art pupils attended an exciting Art Trip to see two exhibitions at the newly refurbished National Portrait Gallery; The Time is Always Now Artists Reframe the Black Figure and the Taylor Wessing Photo Portrait Prize.

Both exhibitions provided students with great inspiration for their current Identity project which they have recently embarked on.

The Time is Always Now Artists Reframe the Black Figure, is a powerful survey of contemporary black artists working in a range of media including painting, drawing, collage and sculpture. Their work addresses a range of personal and political subject matter that is both visually stunning and conceptually arresting.

We highly recommend visiting this pivotal exhibition which is on until May 19th.
