The Year 13 class of 2024 has celebrated an unprecedented achievement, with the highest-ever percentage of A*-B grades here at Alleyn’s. These exceptional results reflect the students' hard work and passion across a broad spectrum of subjects, from humanities and sciences to languages, arts, and PE A Levels.

Head of Upper School, Alex Smith said: ‘We are thrilled with this year’s A Level results, which highlight both academic excellence and the strength of our students’ varied academic interests.’

An outstanding 95% of all exams taken were awarded A*-B grades, with 76% receiving an A* or A, and an impressive 39% achieving the top A* grade.

The vast majority of Alleyn’s students have met the requirements for their first-choice or insurance university offers, solidifying their post-secondary education plans. Students excelled across several subjects, with English Literature, Chemistry, Biology, Film Studies, and Modern Foreign Languages achieving their highest-ever percentage of A* grades

Five students have been recognised by exam boards as being among the top performers nationally in their respective subjects, underscoring the remarkable calibre of this year’s cohort.

Headteacher Jane Lunnon expressed her pride, stating, ‘We are incredibly proud of every single one of our Year 13s for their achievements at A Level and the individual journey they have taken at Alleyn’s. ‘

Lunnon also highlighted the achievements of the school's 14 bursary students, praising their dedication and success. In particular, she acknowledged the accomplishments of two Ukrainian students, who, after fleeing war, have secured places at their first-choice UK universities.

‘Most importantly,’ she added, ‘this year group has been courageous, kind, and supportive of one another through the challenges of COVID-19 and beyond. Their achievements are a testament to their tenacity, strength of character, and maybe most importantly, their sense of friendship and fun. They have been a joy to work with, and we wish them every happiness as they leave us to study a range of exciting disciplines both in the UK and abroad.’

The success of Alleyn's Year 13 class of 2024 marks a proud moment for the school community as they prepare to embark on their next steps with confidence and determination.
