Alleyn’s School 
Join us for a 5 week workshop exploring a variety of different Artistic Techniques with Mariia Shub.
Our course has been specifically designed for anyone who is keen to learn new skills in a relaxed, friendly environment. We warmly welcome everyone including complete beginners. Join us and release your inner artist!
We'll introduce all the fundamentals of different techniques including creative techniques, working with different textures, printing and much more.
Sessions are led by Mariia Shub, a professional art teacher and graphic designer recently relocated from the Ukraine. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge with the community that has welcomed her and her family. As well as being an integral part of our children's Holiday Camp, Mariia is working with Alleyn's to host adult art classes open to all.

I am a professional Ukrainian artist and ceramicist who has also worked as a production designer and art director in film, animation and theatre. For many years I have run art courses in schools and summer camps for adults, family groups and children of all ages, experimenting with collages, murals, acrylics, water colours, mosaics and ceramics.
In my workshops, I am keen to encourage children and adults to enjoy being creative with the simplest of materials – paper, glue, tape, coloured pens, etc. I believe that everyone is capable of being creative and ‘artistic’, no matter previous experience or skill.
I have been teaching privately since 1998 and have run my own art-workshop where I teach children and adults alike. I believe that everyone is united by the pleasure of creating, and it leads to a change in state after the lesson, a positive emotional experience that binds us. I also have a deep understanding of the therapeutic possibilities of art, having organized workshops for children in remission from cancer and for parents who had experienced the loss of a child. These skills have their root in my own personal experience within a medical care setting. It is interesting for me to find where a person has a gift, pick up techniques and materials, and show how, with the help of art, we can cope.
Sometimes my skill lies more in the expertise that I have gained over the years as a production designer, and many professionals turn to me for a deepening of specific skills. Since a lot of my teaching happens between big cinema projects that I work on, my teaching is saturated with real application practice.

Registration will take place in the Junior School Art Studio from 6:45pm. In order to get the most from your booking, please ensure that you arrive at the school with sufficient time.
The Junior School Art Studio is a short walk from the Main School Entrance. Please take a look at the site map here on where to find the art studio.
Please arrive to the site via the Senior School Main Entrance on Townley Road. You are welcome to speak with our Commissionaire and Security Team located at the front of School in Townley Lodge if you need further directions.
Please note that there is no parking available on site.
