Ways of Giving in Your Will
If you are considering making a gift to Alleyn’s in your Will we would be very happy to The School’s Development & Alumni Office can provide examples of wording for you to consider. The four main types of bequest are as follows:
A gift of all or a percentage share of your estate after all other bequests, expenses and taxes have been paid.
A gift of a specific amount of money to the School. You can index link the amount in order to protect your gift from the effects of inflation.
This allows you to leave assets to the school whilst giving a named person the benefit of the assets during his or her lifetime.
A gift of personal property such as books, instruments, shares or land.
A gift to Alleyn’s School in your Will has tax advantages to both the School and your family. As a registered charity, bequests to the School are free from Inheritance Tax and gifts of shares and properties are exempt from Capital Gains Tax.
It is important that we all make a Will and you should always discuss different options with your solicitor and financial advisor.
