School Inspection 2013
Alleyn’s aims to provide a broad academic education, both for its own sake and to meet the demands of universities and other institutions of higher education. At the same time we also seek to nurture personal qualities of initiative, independence and leadership, and attach great importance to the development of other interests and skills, whether cultural, sporting, adventurous – or a combination of all three. We believe that academic confidence and achievement best flourish in this holistic, busy context.
We are therefore very gratified by the report from the Independent Schools Inspectorate on their recent full inspection of Alleyn’s (January 2013) in which our School is rated “Excellent” (the top possible ISI grade). This endorsement of what we are doing provides a wonderfully positive platform from which to move forwards across the key themes of our School Development Plan: teaching and learning, academic enrichment, widening horizons, and further enhancing the School’s facilities.
