Renewal Programme

Completed Renewal Projects

Over the past five years Alleyn’s has continued to invest in the fabric and facilities of the School in order to ensure that our community and educational offering to our pupils and parents can be of the highest quality. Notable past projects include:

Swimming pool

2014 Swimming Pool Refurbishment

Work is now completed on refurbishing the swimming pool and creating a new spectators' gallery. We are delighted and grateful to have secured the funding for a pool cover which will dramatically reduce the costs of running a pool, as well as the donation of funds from the Alleyn's Parents' Association to pay for a touch-timing system for the pool.

Hooper Music School Extension

2013 Hooper Music School Extension

The Hooper Music School was opened in 1995 and provides the School with extensive facilities. The building is used exclusively for the music provision for both the Senior and the Junior School.  In 2013, the music school was extended to provide a further three practice rooms.

 Science Wing

2013 Science Building Lift

Installing a lift in the Science Building has provided full accessibility to all floors.

2012 Geography Classroom

This Geography classroom was re-equipped with retractable computer desks and 30 computers enabling all pupils to benefit from their use in lessons and use new GIS (Geographical Information Systems) technology.

 EAC Refurbished

2011 Edward Alleyn Clubhouse

The Clubhouse, which the School now runs, has benefited from a major overhaul and redecoration programme, bringing this building up to the high standards we expect and maintain on all our school facilities.

 Floodlights on the Astroturf

2011 Floodlights on the Astroturf

We’re delighted to have finally installed floodlights on the Astroturf. This has enabled much greater use of the hockey pitches during the Advent Term and is proving to be very popular with both home and away teams alike.

New Junior School Art Classroom

2011 Junior School Art Classroom

To accommodate the expanding needs of our successful Junior School a new Art Classroom was constructed on the ground floor of the Duke of Edinburgh building over the summer.

New Fives Court

2010 John Pretlove Fives Courts

Our fives courts benefited from a major redevelopment enabling our pupils and former pupils to remain at the forefront of this traditional School sport.

Edward Alleyn Building

2009 Edward Alleyn Building

This state-of-the-art building is primarily a resource for Alleyn's School pupils, but the Michael Croft Theatre and rehearsal, dance studio, lecture theatre and conference facilities are also available to the wider community. The MCT is one of the best theatre spaces in London for aspiring actors including  the National Youth Theatre, which developed out of the school 50 years ago.
